The Association for Community Living (ACL) is a statewide membership organization of not-for-profit agencies that provide housing and rehabilitation services to more than 30,000 people diagnosed with serious and persistent psychiatric disabilities. The day-to-day rehabilitative and support activities performed in community residential and other housing settings are vital for people who face the daily challenges of living with a psychiatric disability, but who want to live independent, productive and satisfying lives as members of the community.
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
NYAPRS is a statewide coalition of people who use and/or provide recovery oriented community based mental health services. We value difference and promote cultural competence in all aspects of our work. NYAPRS is dedicated to improving services and social conditions for people with psychiatric disabilities or diagnoses, and those with trauma-related conditions by promoting their recovery, rehabilitation and rights so that all people can participate freely in the opportunities of society.
The NYS Council is a statewide non-profit membership association representing the interests of nearly 100 behavioral health (mental health and substance use) prevention, treatment and recovery organizations across New York. Our members include free standing community-based agencies, general hospitals, and counties that operate direct services.
HUD's mission is to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all. HUD is working to strengthen the housing market to bolster the economy and protect consumers; meet the need for quality affordable rental homes; utilize housing as a platform for improving quality of life; build inclusive and sustainable communities free from discrimination, and transform the way HUD does business.
ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency.
Tenants & Neighbors is a grassroots organization that helps tenants build and effectively wield their power to preserve at-risk affordable housing and strengthen tenants' rights in New York. Through organizing, education, intensive leadership development, grassroots mobilization, and strategic policy and legislative advocacy, Tenants & Neighbors is building a strong and unified tenant movement that has the knowledge and power to effect real change.
The Neighborhood Preservation Coalition of New York State, Inc. is a statewide membership organization of community-based, not-for-profit housing companies and other interested parties committed to revitalizing New York State’s urban and suburban areas. The Coalition provides information on state and federal housing policies, networking opportunities, advocacy services and technical assistance to its members.
Family Ties offers a wide range of support groups, advocacy services, parent coaching, and connection to community resources, as well as respite and youth development opportunities.
Center for Career Freedom has extensive experience in business, as well as counseling and teaching. This unique blend of skills provides students with a caring and street-smart approach to reaching their employment goals. The Center has assisted over 4,000 persons with mental, physical, or no disabilities to train for today’s workforce.
